Trainer led training is evolving as blended learning strategies are implemented by businesses that aim to be real learner centric organisations. 

 

This training covers how to prepare a classic trainer-led classroom training using existing content and how to manage the dynamics of a group training session, but it also covers how to incorporate digital resources into training led training

OBJECTIVE

 

To be able to run a group training session in a classroom environment from the preparation to the evaluation of competencies acquired

Those wishing to acquire group training techniques with the aim of running classroom training sessions 

PRE-REQUIREMENTS

 

Must have previously attended a course in one-on-one/on-the-job training techniques or has a robust understanding of learning styles, setting SMART3 objectives and practicing feedback

Dependant on the implementation of blended learning techniques and technologies in the trainees’ company

PROGRAM

Day One – PREPARING THE TRAINING

Introduction  

  • Welcome, presentations, objective & planning of the day

  • The difference for learners between on-the-job /one-on-one training; e-learning programs, and classroom group training - advantages and disadvantages

  • Why integrate digital resources into trainer led training?

 

Training Analysis

  • Who, What, When, Where, Why & How?

 

Understanding the Training Scenario

  • What is the pedagogic style being used, what are the interactivity levels and what are the control criteria?

  • Does the story board need to be adapted?

  • Creating / implementing / adapting the supports, presentations, take-aways and digital tools

 

Pre-Course 

  • Contact with the learners – setting, managing and recuperating pre-course work

  • Printing/Sourcing take-aways, testing the functionality of the training environment and the presentation tools 

  • Setting up the room and organising the housekeeping.

 

Conclusion:  Recap of the day and distribution of training projects

2  days trainer led training (16hrs)   

Day 2 - HOSTING THE TRAINING

 

Presentation skills

  • Setting up of the room and the presentation material

  • Personal presence -  Body Language, Speaking rhythm and style, dress codes

  • Flow and time management

 

Managing the learners

  • Encouraging participation whilst managing the time and attention pirates

  • Animating group exercises & running brainstorming sessions

  • Controlling levels of learner understanding

 

Managing the content & ending the day

  • Sticking to the subject whilst adding personal touch stories

  • Repeating the key messages

  • Cutting the “nice to know” content in case of time-management issues

  • Concluding a training

 

Afternoon: Practical exercises

  • Restitution of training projects

  • Group and trainer feedback on each one

 

Conclusion:   Review of the key points from the two days
